Did you know that....

[et_pb_section admin_label="section"][et_pb_row admin_label="row"][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text admin_label="Text"] Did you know that November was Epilepsy Awareness Month?  Me either! A friend brought this to my attention because her son lost a friend to epilepsy and she wants to raise awareness. I'm going to be honest, epilepsy is not something I know much about so I did some research, found some good places to give back to and decided it would be a great pay it forward topic.

Then I realized I actually know someone who deals with this everyday with her daughter Grace. I know Lorraine (Grace's mom) through my friend Jenn. We met under some not so great circumstances when Jenn's son Cooper (who will be another pay it forward soon) was in the hospital in NYC. From the minute I met Lorraine, I knew she was a VERY special lady. She's got more drive in her pinky finger than most people I know do in their entire bodies. Her daughter suffers from epilepsy and she has learned how to fight for everything in Grace's favor. She does it for her daughter and she did it for Cooper. She gives selflessly 24 hours a day to a fight that will be with her forever. Grace is a beautiful girl, who I hope to one day have the pleasure of meeting. She attends a special school in Long Island, NY for children with developmental disabilities called The Hagedorn Little Village School. They are a non profit organization and are in constant need of donations to keep their school up and running and to provide education to the children they service. I hope you will consider making a donation to their school and their cause.

AJO Forever in our hearts http://ajoforever.com/ is dedicated to Alyssa O'Neill who lost her battle to epilepsy. Her family has set up a website and a dedication page where you can make a donation. They use the funds to pay it forward to a variety of charities focused on epilepsy awareness.
