Growth, It's My Word!

[et_pb_section admin_label="section"][et_pb_row admin_label="row"][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text admin_label="Text"] Happy New Year you guys!

What a wild ride 2015 was! I can say I won't miss it that's for sure! 2015 was a year with a lot of twists and turns, some good, some bad. As I think back on the year as a whole I think the positive message for me is that I can get through it (whatever it may be). Obstacles were put in my way time and time again and the attitude I took was to just get through it. There were health issues from various members of our family, new venture issues with the start of Why Am I Yelling?, and every day stuff that when it's piled on the already stressful, can seem like the mountain is too high to climb. I'm glad we're saying goodbye to this year, it's time, it's worn out it's welcome.

I've said before I'm not one to make resolutions, I don't ever keep them, they don't work for me. But, I read an article yesterday where the author suggested instead of making a resolution, think of one word that you want to define you for the upcoming year. The instructions were to take some quiet time to reflect on your current situation, meditate on what you want to happen in your life and come up with a word that will have meaning to you for your new year. I thought it was a good idea so as I was laying down with the boys last night at bedtime, listening to their breath get heavier as they fell asleep, I thought about my year; the good and bad. I thought about all the things that happened to make 2015 the year it had been. Then I thought about the new year and my expectations for it. The first word that popped into my head was GROWTH. It made me smile. It's my word.

2016 for me will be a year of growth both personally and professionally. It will be a year of new things, new ideas and new encounters. I'm not anticipating it to be easy, a new career, new adventures for my kids (middle school for one), juggling schedules and trying to stay focused on personal health. I am anticipating it to be a challenge, one I'm ready for, one I'm asking for, one I'm looking forward to.

As I look back on 12 months of just getting through it, I'm anxiously awaiting all that's in store for 2016. BRING IT ON!! Growth!!

What's your word??

Wishing you all a blessed, happy, healthy and prosperous 2016!
