Sickness Sucks. (and I don't mean the flu)

[et_pb_section admin_label="section"][et_pb_row admin_label="row"][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text admin_label="Text"] Hi you guys, I'm doing my pay it forward early this week because really, this one can't wait. This story was brought to my attention by my good friend and after reading about it I am compelled to spread with the hopes that we can get some good things going for this family who really needs it.

Please Help Support Glenn Cameron & Family

No matter how you know Glenn Cameron – colleague, classmate, neighbor, friend – you know him as someone whose best qualities have always helped bring out the best in each of us. Sadly, a horrible illness is rapidly stripping Glenn of his characteristic wit, intellect and warmth.

In June of 2012, Glenn was diagnosed with “Frontotemporal Dementia,” (FTD) also know as “Pick’s Disease". FTD is a progressive and irreversible cell disorder that leads to tissue shrinkage and reduced function in the brain's frontal and temporal lobes, which control memory, planning and judgment; emotions, speaking and understanding speech; and certain types of movement. Life spans of those diagnosed with FTD range from 6-8 years. Learn more at http://www.alz.org/dementia/fronto-temporal-dementia-ftd-symptoms.asp

Glenn’s rapid deterioration has left him unable to work, drive or maintain social/professional contacts and he is now receiving full-time at-home care from his wife Jodi.

A Family in Need

Caught off-guard by both his diagnosis and the speed of his decline, Glenn’s family is enduring severe financial hardship, including the foreclosure of their house.  As full-time caregiver to Glenn and sons Trevor and Austin, Jodi has been unable to maintain her real estate license, meaning their only source of income is Glenn’s Social Security disability benefits.  Unfortunately, Glenn’s extended family has been unable to provide any significant financial support.

We Can Help

Glenn’s friends and loved ones are raising funds to help Jodi offset expenses and keep the family above water.

Glenn’s friendship has enriched many our lives and reminded us of our better angels.  Now it’s time for us to return the favor, celebrate that which was so lovable about Glenn, and help him and his family thru this difficult period. It’s what he would have done for each of us.
