You Have A Voice!! Use It!!

[et_pb_section admin_label="section"][et_pb_row admin_label="row"][et_pb_column type="4_4"][et_pb_text admin_label="Text"] You guys! Tomorrow is election day...now I'm not going to stand up on my soap box and lecture you about the importance of going to your polls and placing your vote for your candidate because you're all smart people. This is merely a reminder that voting is a responsibility and it should not be disregarded. I have voted in every election I could since I was 18 years old, sometimes via absentee ballot, but I always made sure to cast my vote.

We are a country that is heavily divided and that in and of itself saddens me to no end. It used to be that if one wanted to go into public service their job was to do exactly that, listen and serve the people. Politics has become, like so many other things, a greedy business that hinders more than it helps. The fighting between parties is embarrassing, the judgement and mud slinging is abhorrent and the lack of action on the part of the representatives for the American people is quite frankly disgusting. I read an article a while back written by William Thomas that I thought was spot on (here's the link)... http://kstreet607.com/2013/06/21/a-canadians-view-on-our-disrespect-of-president-obamas-presidency/  I implore you to read it and digest it, regardless of the party you support, it's very true.

Tomorrow we will vote on many important issues, among them women's rights. Ladies...get out there! VOTE! We are the catalysts to making change happen. Don't believe for one minute that your voice does not matter because IT DOES. Please, please vote. Please, please exercise your rights.

I'll be at the polls in the morning, kids in tow, because they like to see how the process works and because I want to make sure they know that soon enough, they will have this privilege too. From one proud American to you all...VOTE!!!

xo
